Please support FEMR efforts to promote bone health in our community and beyond. Your support and participation will enable FEMR to make an impact in the following ways:

  • Develop educational materials and programs that are tailored for both professional audiences and community groups
  • Promote bone health awareness through co-sponsored Volunteereducational forums and public events with local area businesses
  • Provide local organizations with keynote or guest speakers, provide handouts highlighting fracture prevention, Osteoporosis awareness and guidelines for improving bone health through better nutrition, exercise and medication
  • Form alliances nationally with compatible organizations to create cohesive educational campaigns promoting musculoskeletal health
  • Provide continuing education for health care professionals and training through the Chicago Trauma Symposium and other regularly scheduled interactive courses (Most courses are fully accredited for Continuing Education Credit).
  • Provide advanced clinical research to prevent and diagnose Osteoporosis and fragility fractures
  • Create and promote easy to follow guidelines for the screening and treatment of bone-related conditions
  • Provide funding to promote bone health initiatives at the local, state and federal levels
  • By identifying, educating, and treating individuals at risk for fragility fractures due to poor bone health, a person can substantially reduce the long-term burden of osteoporosis, bone-related injuries and deaths.
